Qantas Flight Attendant Falls From Plane
Posted on: March 8th, 2010 by Bobby JonesApparently reports are coming in about a Qantas flight attendant who fell from a plane and hit the tarmac while trying to shut the door before take off at the airport near Uluru. A Northern Territory Police Superintendent, Bob Harrison, said that the flight attendant was apparently trying to shut the door of the plane when she stumbled and fell at Yulara airport.
However, Bob Barrison did note that all of the passengers in the plane were seated. He said that the attendant was shutting the door for take off when the ground staff pulled the ramp away. Unfortunately the attendant, at that point, lost her footing and fell head first from the aircraft about three meters to the ground below.
After the fall, the flight attendant had to be taken to the local medical center at Alice Springs. At the time reports suggested that she only had minor injuries. However, more information is likely to be known later on this week.
Despite this fall from the plane simply being an accident, many critics are wanting to use this story to bash the airline industry as a whole. They go on to say that, at a time when airlines should be extremely careful to get everything right, it does not look good to have flight attendants falling out of planes. Passengers see these kinds of stories, and it makes them nervous to fly in a plane. These critics went on to say that if these attendants cannot even shut the airplane door without falling out, how are they going to react under an emergency situation?
Other experts are saying that these critics are way out of line and are overreacting. They go on to point out that mistakes are made everyday by people – it’s just the way of the world. This little mishap caused no harm to any of the passengers on board.
