Qantas Passenger Threatens to Bring Down Plane Using His Mind
Posted on: April 7th, 2010 by Andrew SoyerApparently a Qantas passenger just recently had to be restrained by flight stewards after he threatened to bring down the plane using the power of his mind. This man, who was believed to be under the influence of drugs or at least alcohol, was said to be delusional and threatening to use his mental powers to harm the plane.
The stewards on flight QF31, which was en route from Sydney to Singapore, handcuffed the man’s arm and legs to a seat for the rest of the flight. Apparently, the man had no mental powers that could crash the plane, because one would think that handcuffing him would have done no good. However, the plane was able to make it safely to its destination.
After landing in Singapore, police boarded the flight after the other passengers disembarked. The man is currently being held by police for questioning.
However, this is not the only problem that Qantas has been having. Just recently Qantas passengers on a flight from Los Angeles to Brisbane arrived 17 hours late after two of the airline’s jumbo jets reported technical problems. The original Boeing 747 and a replacement jet failed to start. This further delayed the flight’s departure.
Recently, Qantas has been having problems with technical problems like this on their planes. This is just adding to the problems that the airline has been facing since the global recession. However, in that regard, almost all airlines around the world have been struggling to make ends meet due to the economic downturn. Although some airlines are starting to recover, it will be quite some time before they are back up to pre-recession numbers.
