It appears that Qantas’ Frequent Flyer program is now reaching new heights. The company has announced that this program has finally hit the seven million milestone. They also expect this program to keep this solid growth coming in the foreseeable future.

Ever since its complete re-haul back in mid 2008, membership numbers have actually increase 32 percent. Qantas said that during this period, the airline also partnered its awards program with grocery store Woolworths. This meant that shoppers at this store were actually able to earn frequent flyer points on everyday groceries. This is a feature that many passengers have been very happy with.

Qantas Frequent Flyer CEO, Simon Hickey, said that they are just delighted to welcome their seven millionth member to the program. This is Australia’s premier loyalty program, and the company is targeting eight million members by the end of next year as more and more Australians realize the advantages available to them through Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Of the seven million members, Qantas says that 2.5 million have earned points through its Woolworths partnership. Thus, this addition has proven to be a very popular feature for both people flying and people that like to shop at Woolworths.

As nations around the world start to bounce back from the economic downturn that has held the world’s travel and tourism industry down, more and more people are going to start traveling. Overall it should be easy for Qantas to reach its goal of eight million members by next year. This is one Frequent Flyer program that passengers actually enjoy using and feel that they are benefiting from.
