According to Tourism Australia, which is the tourism body of Australia, they are still working on reviving domestic tourism. This news comes despite the fact that they just recently launched a campaign to draw international travelers.

The marketing manager of Tourism Australia, Nick Baker, just recently said that they are addressing the slide in domestic tourism. This is a section of tourism that actually dipped more than 6 percent last year. The tourism body was still planning to continue its “No Leave, No Life” campaign, which is encouraging people to take more holidays to spend time with their family and to relieve stress in the workplace.

Tourism Australia is also currently working with states and operators to create more travel packages. Either way, these new low airfare prices are tempting Australians to leave Australia behind and travel overseas.

Nick Baker went on to say that there is no doubt that airfare prices have people considering overseas holidays. However, it is their job in Australia to say to people, look there are many fantastic places to go in Australia as well.

He went on to say that this is what the map that they have devised is showing people. It is showcasing the depth that Australia has to offer people. It’s amazing how many Australians do not even known what is offered right in their backyard.

Tourism Australia just recently launched the second phase of its global campaign last Monday. This was kicked off with a new television commercial and website. Either way, Tourism Australia is doing what it can to bring people in from overseas, as well as get people in Australia to stick around.
