Tourism NT Takes Australia into 3D

Posted on: June 15th, 2010 by Dave Humphries

It now seems that Australia can be experienced in 3D technology. This information comes as Tourism NT chooses to embrace the latest in innovative media techniques. This new technology allows visitors to experience the Northern Territory as if they were actually there, well kind of.

3D technology is now popping up everywhere. Whether it is viewed in films or in television, people are viewing things in a new way. This is something that Tourism NT cannot just let pass by.

It now appears that Tourism NT is one of the first tourist bodies to include the latest technology on their website. They have partnered with Panasonic and two top film makers to help upgrade their site. Together they took photos and shot footage in Darwin, Litchfield, Adelaide River, and Arnhem Land.

The Director of Tourism for Tourism NT, Maree Tetlow, said that 3D footage allows people to be able to experience the incredible and unique landscapes of Australia in a different way. The breathtaking and awe inspiring landscapes of the Northern Territory will be brought to life like never before. People will get to feel as if they are already there, right from the comfort of their own home.

This new 3D footage will be available on social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Flicker, and Youtube. People who visit the Tourism NT website now can be one of the first to view the tropical north territory of Australia in stunning 3D.

Of course, some people say that, no matter how great 3D is, it’s not the same as visiting the place for themselves. However, experts say that this is the point of this new technology. It gives people a better view of what it is like to visit this place. However, for the real deal, they will have to book a trip.
