In a story that seems just insane, a tourist in Western Australia is lucky to still be alive after climbing into a crocodile enclosure in Broome. After entering into the enclosure the man did battle with a male 5m crocodile.

The man, who is believed to be from the eastern states, was actually rejected from a local tavern before climbing the fence of a Broome crocodile park. By climbing this fence, he entered into the home of the giant crocodile that is known as Fatso.

Police went on to say that the man’s better judgment was affected by alcohol. They said that he wanted to touch the crocodile and tried to sit on its back. The crocodile, more than likely a little put off by this whole situation, went to attack the drunken intruder. The drunken man was able to escape with severe lacerations to his right leg.

After being attacked by the crocodile the man made his way back to the nearby tavern to get some help. Broome Police Sergeant Roger Haven said that, for some reason, he made a decision to climb the fence into the crocodile park, where a 5 meter male crocodile was living.

The police sergeant went on to say that he appears to have wanted to touch the crocodile and sit on it. The crocodile, of course, took offense to this and bit him in his right leg. He’s just absolutely lucky to still be alive. This is a large male saltwater crocodile. These kinds of crocodiles are renowned for not letting people escape once they have gotten a hold of them.
