Jetstar Announces New Partnership with Tourism WA
Posted on: August 19th, 2010 by Paul ScottIt now seems that a multi-million dollar marketing deal has just been made between Jetstar and Tourism WA. This partnership, which was made just this week is set to increase the number of visitors that come to Perth from the east coast.
As part of this three-year deal, the Western Australian State Government will match Jetstar’s marketing spending on advertising and promoting Jetstar’s new Perth services. This service is set to increase by over 60 percent.
The Group Chief Executive of Jetstar, Bruce Buchanan, said that this partnership will facilitate cooperative marketing and campaigns. It will work in covering consumer interest in traveling to Western Australia. It is set to increase interest for people from both within Australia and outside.
Liz Constable, who is the Western Australia Tourism Minister, said that this agreement would draw some AUD117 million in tourism revenue to Australia over the lifetime of the deal. She said that Western Australia anticipates an additional 120,000 visitors will come to experience all that Western Australia has to offer. This deal will also help to address two of the main barriers to visitation from the eastern seaboard, which is time and cost.
According to reports, Jetstar will offer daily A320 services between Perth and Brisbane. This will start as of December 19 of this year. The airline will also be offering services between Perth and Gold Coast starting April 4 2011. This is good news for people who enjoy traveling around Australia. These new routes will give consumers who are looking to travel to Western Australia a cheaper alternative to other routes already offered.
