The Victorian cricket team, as well as the band known as John Butler Trio, were just recently involved in a very tense near miss in Adelaide. This near miss happened after the landing gear on the plane appeared to fail.

A spokeswoman for the cricket team, Jessica Cook, said that the entire squad of 17 and sports staff were on the plane that was coming from Darwin to Adelaide. Ms Cook, who was with the team at the time, said that after circling the airport many times the Qantas crew advised passengers that a cockpit light indicated a problem with the landing gear. This went double for the front wheel of the plane.

She went on to say that after a very tense 45 minutes, passengers were advised to prepare for a crash landing and get into a brace position. Every big name on the team was on that plane. Everyone was very happy when the plane landed without much of a problem.

Reports did say that the touchdown was a little bumpy but the plane did land safety. Passengers reported seeing emergency vehicles on the runway as they came in to land. This just added to the drama.

Passengers said that there was a lot of applause and some cheers once the plane landed safely. Most of the cricketers were sitting toward the rear of the plane. The team was suppose to continue on to Melbourne on the same plane. However, they ended up having to wait several hours in the Qantas lounge for a replacement plane. In the end, everyone was just happy that the plane was able to land safely.
