According to Tourism Australia, there is nothing like Australia. At least this is what they want travelers and holidaymakers to believe when they are planning their next vacation. Tourism Australia’s newest campaign, called “There’s Nothing Like Australia,” talks about some of the hotspots found all over the country. This includes the Sydney Harbour, the Great Barrier Reef and, of course, Kangaroo Island.

Research is currently showing that 80 percent of Aussies want to promote their country as a top travel destination. Due to this, Tourism Australia asked Australians to submit their own photos and brief descriptions of their favorite Australian experiences. Tourism Australia then picked and chose some to use in their new campaign.

Well this idea proved to be pretty popular. Tourism Australia received 29,000 submissions in just one month. Thus, Tourism Australia created an interactive map to highlight all of these places. The map is now currently available for Americans to search, with 3,500 experiences featured so far. Information on trip planning and sample itineraries are also provided.

Now the ball is in the court of United States travelers. Australia wants Americans to come to Australia and take their own photos of their favorite things to do. They then want the Americans to send their photos into Tourism Australia so they can be featured on the map as well.

People who take part in this competition will be entered into a chance to win a trip to Australia, which will be valued at USD $10,000. Submissions have to be in by October 13. The winner will be announced November 11.

The Tourism Australia Regional General Manager, Daryl Hudson, said that there is nothing like looking up at the Outback sky. Anyone who has been to Australia knows there are magical experiences to be had here.
