Hotel Workers in Australia Fed up With Valentine’s Day
Posted on: February 16th, 2011 by Bobby JonesEveryone loves Valentine’s Day, right? It’s the perfect chance to spend some special time with a special someone. However, in Australia not everyone is so “happy go lucky” abut Valentine’s day. In fact, Melbourne hotel workers said that they are fed up with this holiday. However, it might not be for the reason that everyone thinks.
Apparently Melbourne hotel workers are sick and tired of Valentine’s Day, because they are sick of cleaning up the mess that is left behind in their hotel rooms. That’s right, they are sick of the aftermath of Valentine’s Day, which is something a lot of people do not think of.
After Valentine’s Day, a lot of hotel rooms are left covered with things like fruits, flowers and chocolates. One Hilton Hotel room attendant said that, for them, Valentine’s Day means cleaning up flower petals that are scattered all over the floor and champagne that was apparently spilled everywhere.
But what’s the worse part about it? Well apparently it is cleaning up a lot of very questionable stains all over the beds. One room attendant said, “God only knows what left these stains.” To top it all off, the staff get no extra time to clean these kinds of rooms.
One lady said that she went to clean up a hotel room after Valentine’s Day, and the bathroom was just completely covered in bubble bath. On top of that, the bed was all covered in oils and whipped cream. She said it looked like the room had been used for everything but sleeping.
So what do hotel workers want people to remember on Valentine’s Day? All they asked is that the people think of the mess that they are leaving behind. It is pretty apparent that people are renting out rooms so that they do not have to deal with the chore of cleaning up their own mess.
