Right now online travel sites are big. A lot of this has to do with the fact that consumers know that they can find the best deal online. No matter where they are looking to go or what kind of hotel they want to stay in, they know that they can find some kind of deal online. This could be the main reason behind Priceline.com’s massive success in 2010.

Just recently Priceline.com, which is one of the top online travel sites, announced that its profits jumped in 2010. In fact, thanks to the company’s very strong international presence, it was able to report positive fourth quarter earnings, as well as full year earnings in 2010.

Reports from Priceline.com show that the company was able to make about $3.26 billion in travel sales in 2010. These same reports show that this is an increase of about 44.2 percent. Overall, a lot of this has to do with the fact that the company’s revenue in the fourth quarter of last year was $731 million. This alone is an increase of about 35 percent when compared to the year before.

However, it was the company’s international operations that made the biggest difference. Reports show that it was able to post revenues of about $374.9 million in the fourth quarter of last year. Overall, this is an increase of 68.2 percent when compared to a year before.

Jeffery H. Boyd, who is the president and CEO of Priceline.com, said that the company’s worldwide hotel business performed stunningly well in the fourth quarter of 2010. Overall, this huge jump in profits was made possible because the company continues to break into new markets.
