V Australia enter 5 year contract with Singapore Airlines

Virgin Blue, owners of V Australia, has announced that they will work with Singapore Airlines who will be responsible for maintaining and upholding V Australia’s Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts.
No Australian airlines currently operate Boeing 777-300ER’s and consequently there are no Australian based companies that are familiar with their maintenance and service. Singapore Airlines have the largest fleet of Boeing 777’s in the world, giving them the expertise and knowledge of the aircraft that V Australia requires.
Brett Godfrey is the CEO for Virgin Blue has said “We are pleased to have engaged SIA Engineering Company to provide a comprehensive range of engineering support for our new V Australia fleet of B777-300ERs,” V Australia state that they are committed to ensuring high standards of safety, management and presentation and the contract with Singapore airline will make sure these criterion are met.
The $90 million Fleet Management Program and 5 year contract is for the introductory fleet of Boeing 777 aircrafts which will begin operation later on this year.
