Passenger rate increase for Virgin Blue

Virgin Blue is Australia’s second largest airline and over the last year has seen a significant increase in its service users.  Virgin Blue introduced V Australia Airlines in March 2008 which is a premium three class international airline and predicted make a considerable difference to the number of Virgin Blue flyers.

According to Virgin Blue Holdings, the number of passengers for March was 1.504 million, which is an increase of 15.6% from the same month the previous year. The number of seats that were filled per flight has also increased from 0.1% to a staggering 80.8% in March over a year. Virgin Blue has seen a rise in its traffic by 10.2% and passenger numbers have escalated by 7.8% from 2007. The only area where Virgin Blue has seen a worse performance from the pervious year is punctuality, which has dropped from 88% to 80%.

Virgin Blue is becoming increasingly popular in Australia, and as the second largest Australian airline, threatens to dominate the Australian aviation industry.
